Sally Field burst onto the scene as Burt Reynolds' frequent love interest in a serious of more or less mediocre 70s movies. After doing a fine turn as Norma Rae in 1979, Field suddenly was on the end of a lot of critical acclaim that even gave her Academy Awards. Subsequently however, Field's career has deteriorated and her performances have more often been below par than not.
