Wedding Crashers (2005)
Apart from a charming Owen Wilson, a sometimes very funny Vince Vaughn, and a quirky and delightful Hotel New Hampshireish segment at the family residence of Christopher Walken, Wedding Crashers is a film with too much on its mind. It is unfocused, uneven, unsubtle, and even full of clichés. All of this is due partly to bad writing, but mainly to bad cutting and directing. Dobkin has his film all over the map, and with lack of focus comes lack of credibility. The film has a lot of potential to come up with quite a few laughs, but fails mostly. Vince Vaughn has his moments, but when Wedding Crashers stops trying to be weird and starts to become the least credible romantic comedy for some time, we feel the film's time is up. Unfortunately, it goes on for a little while longer, including a very painful final wedding.
