Scary
Movie 4 (2006)
Of course, the freshness in this series (if not in this subgenre) is completely gone, and the necessity for Scary Movie 4 is completely absent. For the second time, David Zucker helms a sequel in the Scary Movie-series, and he recruits his old heroes Leslie Nielsen and Charlie Sheen as well as buddy Jim Abrahams for the writing. The result is recycling of familiar territory, some useful spoofs on contemporary Hollywood films, and a handful of good laughs if you're lucky. More often than not, however, the jokes are not funny. And the script is, not surprisingly, largely disjointed and lacking a thin red line. This might be called entertainment if you're prosaic, but funny it is not.
