Groundhog
Day (1993)
The idea which construes the basis of Groundhog Day is exceptionally intriguing. Through Bill Murray's delightfully repellent arrogance-champion Phil Connors, the film gets off to a flying start. Balancing delicately between slapstick comedy and It's a Wonderful Life-inspired philosophy and social satire, Harold Ramis remains original until getting stuck in a conventional and unsparkling romance between his two stars. That's Hollywood for you, unfortunately.
