Review

Criminally charming, vivacious and descriptive film about college life, youthful sexuality and generation gaps. In contrast to its genre-counterparts of the late 1990s and onwards, Class is neither rude nor vulgar, despite being equally controversial when it comes to theme and subject. This is a great achievement by Carlino, and it makes the film both pleasant and bold. The swarming collection of up-and-coming brat packers absorb the attention in delighful fashion and help make this both amusing and great fun. Lowe is great in one of his best roles, McCarthy is at the peak of his sensitive persona in the lead, whereas John Cusack fully displays his comedic talent in a wonderful supporting role. One of the best of its kind, and a pinpoint depiction of the early 80s.
