Review

This is a fairly effective thriller from first timer Josh Klausner who doesn't have many new ideas of his own, but who directs with a good atmospheric sense. The film wasn't even given a cinematic release in its country of production, which is rather strange bearing in mind the relatively attractive performers involved. Juliette Lewis has the lead, and is energetic and devoted, while William Hurt by her side looks like he's about to fall a sleep in nearly every scene he appears. That is one uninspired performance. The supporting cast provides some fun, however (Shelley Duvall is especially amusing) and the premise is good as Klausner keeps a lot of spaces and people hidden to make it all suspenseful. Obviously, it's not at all plausible, but it stays interesting for quite a while until the ridiculous ending kicks in with the quality of every bad horror movie you've seen. The final shot, however, is a lot more clever.
